Public Encouraged to Weigh in on County Spending Priorities
The Dane County Board of Supervisors will host two public hearings next week on the 2015 County budget.
“The budget is where the rubber meets the road,” said County Board Chair Sharon Corrigan. “We absolutely need to hear from our constituents about their priorities and their needs. This is a great chance to let the entire County Board hear what you have to say about how your tax dollars are spent.”
The first hearing will take place at 6 pm on Wednesday, September 10 in the County Board Chamber, City County Building Room 201. County Supervisors will invite testimony on budget considerations for any department other than Health and Human Needs.
The second hearing, at 6 pm on Thursday, September 11, will take place in the Mendota Room of the Alliant Energy Center, and will only cover the Health and Human Needs Department budget. The HHN budget accounts for nearly half of all County spending.
