DCRA Celebrates Record-breaking 2012
Passenger Traffic Sets Second Best Year In History

Madison, WI – The Dane County Regional Airport marked its second best year in history with passenger traffic surging 6.7 percent compared to 2011. For the year, 810,953 passengers flew out of Madison.  The airport’s best year ever was in 2004 with 847,341 passengers. 

"A strong year at the Dane County Regional Airport shows our investments there are paying off.  The expanded services coming to our airport help support a strong local economy and makes Dane County look more attractive to businesses considering our area for new growth," said Parisi.

The boost in passengers was driven by several service expansions including New York – LaGuardia, Cincinnati, Denver, Orlando, and, Washington, D.C.
 

“With more flights available on mainline and dual-class aircraft, our Madison customers can enjoy upgraded service to twelve major airline hubs,” said Bradley Livingston, AAE, Airport Director “Our flights to these key hubs mean convenient one-stop service to worldwide destinations for south central Wisconsin.”

In addition, 2012 set several monthly all-time, record-breaking passenger numbers:  June 73,838, July 74,974, and August with 79,784.  During 2012, passenger traffic was up on all airlines serving the airport.

Most recently, DCRA announced service increases to Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago on American Eagle.

The Dane County Regional Airport provides seamless, low-stress, and affordable options for both leisure and business travelers with more than 90 daily arrivals and departures.  Non-stop service to twelve cities provides access to hundreds of worldwide destinations.
