Madison, WI.  January 16, 2010 –

At 5:29 p.m., Dane County Deputies were dispatched to a three-vehicle crash on Highway 14, near Schultz Road, in the Town of Black Earth.  Cross Plains, Mazomanie and Middleton EMS also responded to this crash.

A 2006 Ford pick-up truck, operated by Adam V. Schultz, age 28 of Black Earth, was westbound on Highway 14 when he crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Dodge van driven by Aasha R. Dobbs, age 21 of Richland Center.  Schultz then struck a second eastbound vehicle driven by Patricia A. Wolf, 53 of Cross Plains.  The second crash forced Wolf off the roadway and into the ditch causing her 2002 Dodge van to roll onto its side.  Wolf was pinned in her vehicle and required extrication.  She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Dobbs was traveling with three passengers identified as Taylor Q. Scott,  age 17 of Arena, Sara J. Storms, age 21 of Richland Center, and Andrew A. Mauzy, age 18 of Tolono Illinois.  Scott was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  Storms was treated on-scene for facial cuts.

Schultz was arrested for Causing Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle.  All drivers were wearing their seatbelts, which prevented them from sustaining much more serious injuries.

Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash.
