New Online Home for County Government Links Citizens to Business, Recreation, & Many Other Resources
Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk announced today the county has launched a new and improved webpage to better connect citizens with a variety of services and information.
The new county government website uses the same online address: www.countyofdane.comand directly links users to the county board and its committees, county departments and commissions, economic development and business resources, and the many recreational opportunities that contribute to Dane County’s high quality of living.
“Our new and improved, user-friendly website is a one-stop online resource for citizens,” County Executive Kathleen Falk. “Whether it’s getting a marriage license, finding out if a flight at the airport is on time, or learning about the best county parks for camping and fishing, our new website has it all.”
www.countyofdane.com provides a variety of helpful links, including to the websites of the more than 60 cities, villages, and towns in the county. Visitors to the new site will also find calendars of community and county government related events and an entire section dedicated to business and economic development, grant opportunities, and projects the county is currently soliciting bids and proposals for.
The website was designed and developed by Dane County’s Division of Information Technology, which is part of the Department of Administration. Staff modeled the homepage after the one used by the White House and did rigorous testing to ensure the site offers the highest level of service.
The new layout is intended to make it easier for people to use the webpage and quickly find information and links that are most frequently used by online users. Current initiatives and notable events are featured prominently on the front of the page, complete with graphics and pictures.
