Madison, WI. February 17, 2010 – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a child enticement case that occurred on Thursday, February 11th, in the town of Pleasant Springs.


At approximately 7:15 am, an eight-year-old female was walking from her home to her school bus stop on Williams Drive near Yahara Street, when a male in a silver newer model 4-door crossover/SUV approached her. The man parked alongside the road, rolled down his window, and asked the girl if she wanted a ride to school. When she replied no, he continued in attempting to coax her into the vehicle for a ride. As the girl walked away and waited for the school bus in a nearby yard, the man remained in his vehicle.


He is described as being 30 to 40 years of age, with a medium build, dark eyes, and medium colored skin.


A similar incident was reported approximately three weeks ago in Oregon, and detectives are investigating whether or not the two are related. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014, or the Dane County Tip Line at (608) 284-6900.
