Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Town of Verona

Madison, WI.  June 20th, 2009 – At approximately 10:58am, Dane County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on USH 18/151 near Dairy Ridge Road, in the Town of Verona. 

 A Class “A” Motor home containing a driver and passenger were travelling WB on USH 151, when the motor home crossed the median of the road and struck an eastbound Oldsmobile SUV containing four occupants.

 The driver and a passenger in the Oldsmobile SUV were killed on impact.  A 3rd occupant in the SUV was pinned in the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries.  The 4th occupant received non-life threatening injuries.  The driver and passenger of the motor home also received non-life threatening injuries.

 The injured were conveyed to Madison area hospitals by EMS units from Fitch-Rona, Mount Horeb, and the Town of Madison.  Med Flight also responded to the scene.

 The East Bound lanes of USH 18/151 were closed for several hours after the crash, and traffic was re-routed.

 The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriffs Office and the names of all involved are being withheld at this time pending notification of family members.
