County Executive Falk Sworn-in for Fourth Term

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk was sworn-in for her fourth term by Chief Judge William Foust today (Tuesday, April 21st). Falk, the county’s longest serving Executive, officially starts her new four-year term today.
“I appreciate the continued trust of Dane County citizens to lead the charge on the issues most important to them,” Falk said. “We’ve gotten a lot done in the past 12 years, but from growing our economy with ‘green’, good-paying jobs to being the first county to comprehensively tackle alcohol abuse there’s so much more I’m excited to be able to work on in the next four.”
Falk noted guiding the county through the effects of the nation’s continued economic struggles will be first and foremost in the months ahead.
“Through innovation and ingenuity we’ll continue to grow good paying jobs and energy right here in our county,” Falk said. “Maximizing opportunities for ‘green’ energy can mean millions for our farmers and clean lakes for our families.”
“Following the shared values of Dane County citizens, we’ve built a strong foundation here. As Executive, I’ll work hard to ensure our county continues to offer top-notch services to our kids, seniors and most vulnerable citizens. Now more than ever we must work hard to make sure those many needs are met,” Falk said.
Only two other County Executives in Wisconsin state history are known to have served four or more terms. John Doyne was Milwaukee County Executive from 1960 until 1976 and Fond du Lac County Executive Allen Buechel was just elected to his fifth, four-year term.
