TWO VEHICLE CRASH IN THE TOWN OF RUTLAND

Madison, WI. January 30, 2008. On Tuesday, January 29 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Deputies from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and Stoughton Fire and EMS responded to a two vehicle crash on State Highway 138 at County Highway A, town of Rutland. Devin G. Walker, age 17 of Stoughton was southbound on State Highway 138 in a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix when he lost control and spun sideways into the path of another southbound vehicle, a 2002 VW Jetta driven by Sheena M. Verburg, age 20 from Stoughton. Walker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by EMS to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Verburg was wearing her seatbelt and did not complain of any significant injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Slick road conditions were a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
