Throughout the week, motorcycle traffic in the Madison and Dane County area is expected to increase significantly as motorcycle enthusiasts descend on Milwaukee for the Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary celebration. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert motorists of the increased motorcycle traffic, with the busiest day expected to be on Wednesday, August 27th. Several large groups of motorcycles are expected to stop at Capital City Harley-Davidson on Millpond Road in Madison for lunch before riding together to Milwaukee. The group is expected to depart at approximately 2:00 pm. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office along with the Wisconsin State Patrol will provide traffic assistance to this group to help them get on the interstate safely. Motorists should expect traffic congestion and potential lane closures in the area of US Highway 12 & 18 at I-39, CTH N at US Highway 12 & 18, and CTH N at I-39 between 2:00 and 3:00 pm on Wednesday. Authorities will be attempting to keep the disruption to traffic flow at a minimum, while assisting this group of motorcycles to get on their way to Milwaukee as safely as possible. ###
