COUNTY BOARD TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON 2007 COUNTY BUDGET

The Dane County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2007 County Budget on Monday, October 23rd, 2006 at 7:00 PM in Room 201 of the City County Building. The County Executive's proposed budget recommends $448 million in total expenditures, with a property tax levy of $110 million and a county tax rate of $2.44 per thousand dollars of assessed value. All interested citizens are urged to attend the hearing to present their concerns to the Board. Those wishing to speak will each have five minutes to address the Board. County Board standing committees have been meeting over the last two weeks to review the County Executive’s proposed budget. Committee deliberations will continue from October 24th through November 6th, as needed. Input provided at the public hearing could result in budget amendments to be considered during this period. The Personnel and Finance Committee will consider standing committee recommendations and send a budget recommendation to the full County Board. It is anticipated that the full County Board will begin its budget deliberations on Monday, November 13th at 7:00 PM in Room 201 - City County Building, and continue on Wednesday, November 15th and Thursday, November 16th, if necessary. # # #
