Araceli Esparza, Office of Equal Opportunity, 266-3022

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and the Dane County Office of Equal Opportunity, together with the African American Black Business Association and the Latino Chamber of Commerce, are hosting the fourth session of a Minority Business Development Series on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, 706 John Nolen Drive, Madison. “This is a valuable session for current minority business owners, as well as anyone contemplating launching their own operation,” Falk said. “Session participants will walk away with skills for success and more of an understanding of how to do business with government.” The session will include an opportunity for minority businesses to network among themselves and to discuss the many contracting opportunities with government. Our first presenter is Rob Wangard, a successful minority business owner, who has executed several government contracts. He will discuss the challenges and advantages to doing business with government. We expect to have purchasing representatives from various government agencies to discuss how one submits bids for government contracts and to give general advice to small business owners. Please refer to the county’s webpage at www.countyofdane.com for more information. If you are a member of a minority group and have recently started a new business or are thinking of starting one, you are strongly encouraged to attend. All businesses are welcome to attend. Interpretation in Spanish will be provided. Refreshments will be served. # # #
