The Dane County Courthouse which officially opened in January, netted high honors for its construction and mechanics from the Wisconsin Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America. “This recognition by such a prestigious professional association is a tremendous honor to our county and to the facility that represents justice for all,” Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said of the 2006 Build Wisconsin Awards from the contractors association. “It also is gratifying to know its design, craftsmanship and hard work have been recognized by this professional group.” The courthouse built with many recycled materials, located at 215 S. Hamilton St. in Madison, was cited in two award categories presented during an association event in Sheboygan on November 2. H & H Industries Inc. was honored for its mechanical work in the courthouse, and Miron Construction Co. Inc. also was cited for its outstanding work under the new construction-general contractor category. Falk also reiterated her thanks to Rob Nebel, the county manager who led the massive project. # # #
