Dane County Executive Falk Declares July 13 “Gaylord Nelson Day” in Dane County

Madison – Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today declared Wednesday, July 13 “Gaylord Nelson Day” in Dane County. Falk issued the proclamation in commemoration of the former Senator and Governor, citing the fact that Nelson began his political career as a state senator from Dane County in 1948. Tomorrow, a state ceremony celebrating Nelson’s lifelong contribution will be held in the Capital Rotunda. “Today we all honor Gaylord Nelson’s memory and thank him for the many contributions he made to not only our state but our world’s environment. We are proud that Gaylord Nelson started his political career here in Dane County,” said Falk. The text of the proclamation is attached. # # #
