Madison – Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today announced that applications for the 2007 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME and ADDI (American Dream Downpayment Initiative) programs are available. This year, Dane County is participating in the consolidated application process with the City of Madison CDBG Office, Dane County Department of Human Services, and United Way to offer access to grant funding through a single application. Applications are available at http://www.danecountyhumanservices.org/application.htm and are due June 2. County Executive Falk sent a letter to communities about the applications, which is copied below. To: All Dane County Mayors, Town Chairs, Village Presidents, Administrators, Planners, Dane County Board of Supervisors I am pleased to announce that the Applications for the 2007 Community Development Block Grant, HOME and ADDI (American Dream Downpayment Initiative) programs are available. Dane County is participating in the consolidated application process with the City of Madison CDBG Office, Dane County Department of Human Services, and United Way to offer access to grant funding through a single application. The consolidated application process covers funding from CDBG, HOME, ADDI, Department of Human Services, and United Way. The applications are due on June 2 by 12:00 noon, addressed to Dane County CDBG Office, 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Room 362, Madison, Wisconsin 53703. The review process for applications submitted to the Dane County CDBG Office will consist of an internal review during June, presentations by applicants to County CDBG Commission members in July, and application priority ranking by the CDBG Commission in September. We anticipate receiving notification of our 2007 federal grant amounts sometime in late 2006. Upon notice of our grant amounts, the CDBG Commission will make 2007 funding recommendations to the County Executive and Dane County Board of Supervisors. Grant applicants and the public will have opportunities to address the CDBG Commission in response to their priority rankings, and their funding recommendations. CDBG staff members Ann Webbles (261-9782) and Steve Steinhoff (266-4270) are available to answer questions about the applications and the application process. I welcome you to participate in this program. Thank you for all you do to make our county a great place for all. Sincerely, Kathleen M. Falk Dane County Executive # # #
