American Eagle, a regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add a third daily nonstop flight between Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) in Madison and the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, beginning May 1. Reservations are now being accepted for the new flight, which uses a 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jet. American Eagle began service to Madison with two daily round-trip nonstop flights between the two cities in June 2005. The Dallas/Fort Worth area is the largest metropolitan area in Texas, and the fifth largest in the United States. It has one of the highest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the country, including a large number of electronics, computing and telecom firms. The flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport are particularly convenient for connections to Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. “Keeping Dane County connected with world centers of commerce is vital to our economy. Adding more nonstop flights is the best way to do this, and remains a high priority of mine,” said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. Airport Director Bradley Livingston also applauded American Eagle’s investment in the community. This announcement comes on the heels of American Eagle and American- Connection, both regional affiliates of American Airlines, announcing last week that they are increasing the number of nonstop flights from Madison to New York and St. Louis. The existing Madison to Dallas/Fort Worth flights are seven days a week, departing at 6:40 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. The new service will operate daily, except Saturday, at the following local times: Flight Departs Arrives 3702 Madison 4:45 p.m. Dallas-Ft. Worth 7:05 p.m. 3701 Dallas/Ft. Worth 2:05 p.m. Madison at 4:20 p.m. ABOUT AMERICAN EAGLE American Eagle operates more than 1,800 daily flights to more than 160 cities throughout the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Mexico and the Caribbean on behalf of American Airlines.
