Dane County, in partnership with Madison Gas and Electric and Alliant Energy, today released the Dane County Resource Guide to Economic Development – a first-ever comprehensive guide for any business, person, group or community looking to thrive in the growing economy. “If you are thinking about starting or expanding a business, re-locating your business, or would like to find out more about workforce development training in our region, the information you need is here,” Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk said. The four-color 34-page guide is jammed with information about more than 150 organizations, business development and networking resources along with listings of financing, venture capital and loan programs. All Dane County cities, towns and villages are listed, including details about the economic development assistance each offers. A special section of just technical help also is included for communities seeking help in identifying and pursuing economic development opportunities nearby. “Dane County is a fast-growing region and a player in the global marketplace,” Falk said, adding the county has enjoyed the lowest unemployment rate in the state for years. “We are committed to being a strong regional partner and resource.” Falk also thanked Madison Gas and Electric and Alliant Energy for their support of the guide. A copy of the Guide will be mailed to all participating organizations. For more information, or to receive a copy, please contact Olivia Parry at the Dane County Planning and Development Department at parry@co.dane.wi.us.
