Both sessions will be held at the Madison Police Department, West District Station located at 1710 McKenna Blvd, Madison. The cost is $25 and includes the Training Manual for Rental Property and Owners and Managers and other information provided by the sponsoring agencies. Refreshments are included. Lunch is on your own. “This training gives those responsible for making rental property management decisions a better understanding of how they can make their properties safer and make a positive contribution to the neighborhood,” said Kathy Gile, Lead Instructor for the Landlord Training Program. “The course work offers how-to practical advice including applicant screening, rental policies and procedures, and attracting residents who want to live in healthy and safe neighborhoods.” Police Officer Jane Lombardo, instructor of the Landlord and Manager Safe Workplace portion of the program adds, “It is essential that landlords and property managers learn basic skills in protecting themselves while at work and to know when to call the police.” While these program sessions are geared toward property owners and managers, all members of the community are invited to attend.
