Falk Announces Harriett Rowland Retirement

Dane County Employee Relations Manager Harriett Rowland today (5/5/03) announced her retirement after 33 years of service with Dane County. Ms. Rowland has been the Employee Relations Manager since 1998. “Harriett is well-liked and well-respected throughout Dane County government for very good reasons,” said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. “Harriett has always been helpful, compassionate, direct, and honest in a very tough job. All of us will miss her great work and wise counsel. She deserves, and we hope she enjoys, a happy, healthy retirement.” As Manager of the Employee Relations Division, Ms. Rowland was responsible for the key personnel functions for Dane County’s 2,000-person work force. Bonnie Hammersley, Director of the County’s Department of Administration, is developing plans for interim supervision of the Employee Relations Division following June 9th of this year, Ms. Rowland’s retirement date. # # #
