Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today appointed Bradley Livingston, 44, to be the new Airport Director of the Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA). He is currently Director of Operations for the Omaha-Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska. Livingston’s contract will run for five years, effective May 5, with a starting salary of $115,000 and with allowances for other expenses in connection with the move. The salary is paid out of airport revenues. His appointment is subject to County Board approval. Falk is submitting the appointment at the March 20 board meeting. Livingston is no stranger to Dane County. Prior to his position in Omaha, Livingston was Deputy Airport Director at the DCRA for 10 years, from 1986 to 1996. “Bradley has 23 years of high level experience managing airports, with a record of high energy, hard work and team building. He is the leader Dane County needs to take our airport to the next level, especially as we begin the expansion of our airport terminal,” said Falk. She said Livingston’s experience in airport safety and security was also important. Falk said, “I want to thank Airport Commission Chair Bill White for his great input and strong involvement in the recruitment and hiring process.” At Omaha-Eppley Airfield, Livingston is responsible for managing the airport safety, security and operations departments, as well as capital development at an airfield that has 3.8 million annual passengers and is ranked 63rd in the nation. The DCRA had 1.5 million passengers in 2002, up from 1.3 million in 2001, and is ranked 95th in the nation. As Deputy Airport Director at the DCRA, Livingston oversaw daily management of safety, security, maintenance and ground operations, and was project manager for $25 million in airport terminal, airfield and parking improvements. Livingston previously was Director of Operations at Arapahoe County Airport in Denver, and is a graduate (B.S. Business Administration) of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Livingston said: “This is an excellent opportunity. I look forward to rejoining the staff, many of whom I had the opportunity to work with in my prior tenure at the Dane County Regional Airport. The airport’s growth has been above average and is unique in the nation -- having growth rates that are high compared to other airports this size, and high compared to airports in general.” DCRA’s growth rate is in the top 15 percent of all airports in the nation. “I am grateful for the leadership David Jensen has provided us while serving as interim airport director this past year,” said Falk. Jensen will return to his position as DCRA deputy director. # # #
