The Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission is seeking nominations for the Dane County Water Champions Award to recognize individuals, businesses and organizations that have positively impacted the water resources of the County. The Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission will present the awards during Yahara Lakes Week on Friday, June 20, at the Madison Hilton Hotel. “People love our lakes, rivers and streams here in Dane County. Some people are doing great work to help protect these resources, and we want to recognize their efforts with the Water Champions Award,” said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. “I hope to hear a lot of wonderful stories being told in the nominations.” “During the Year of Water, we are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of those who have worked to protect and improve the water quality as well as the scenic, economic, recreational and environmental value of Dane County’s lakes and streams,” said Dane County Watershed Management Coordinator Susan Jones. Nominations are available from the Lakes and Watershed Commission office at 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Room 421. Call 608-266-4296 or email woldt@co.dane.wi.us for a nomination form. Nomination forms are also available on the Dane County Lakes and Watershed Commission’s web site at www.co.dane.wi.us/commissions/lakes. Nominations must be received by March 31. # # #
