WHAT: County Executive’s Decisions on 2002 County budget freeze WHEN: Tuesday, August 6, 11:00 a.m. WHERE: County Executive’s Conference Room City-County Building, Room 421 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard Madison WI 53703 BACKGROUND: In order to protect Dane County’s balanced budget from any and all possible revenue cuts, Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk in February announced a response to the Governor’s proposal to immediately cut $5.5 million in shared revenue cuts to the county. She announced a phased response, starting with some immediate steps, including a series of freezes and delays in spending, that were projected to save $1.8 million in 2002. Now that the state budget has been passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor, she has reviewed the fiscal impact on Dane County and will announce her decisions relating to the freeze and delays in spending. # # #
