Dane County government provides services from A to Z, the airport to the zoo.  The Dane County Board of Supervisors is the 37-member, nonpartisan body that sets policy for Dane County operations in the areas of human needs, infrastructure, criminal justice, the environment and County finance.

The County Board holds approximately two public meetings a month that are open to the public and provide opportunities for public input.  Additionally, Dane County has several boards, commission, committees, and task forces that hold public meetings.  At these meetings, members of the public may provide testimony on many agenda items.

While the process for providing public testimony is set forth in the Dane County Ordinances, the County Board Office has created a webpage and handout so the public can access this information in one spot.

The webpage with information for public testimony and frequently asked questions can be found here:  https://board.countyofdane.com/meetings/attend-meeting/Providing-Public-Testimony

“As people elected to serve the public, we value the input of county residents,” said County Board Chair Patrick Miles (District 34).  “We want to make the process as clear and accessible as possible for members of the public to participate in decision making.  I encourage everyone to share this information with others in the community who are interested.  We continue to review our processes to make public participation easier and more accessible.”

A shorter handout with highlights from the information can be found here.

The County Board will meet tonight at 7:00pm as the last meeting of 2023.  The agenda for the meeting can be found here.
