At the Dane County Personnel and Finance Committee meeting tonight, the newly appointed committee voted to recommend to the County Board denial of a resolution that would have provided up to a $1,000 inflation mitigation payment to Dane County employees.

The resolution, introduced in April, would have used approximately $3 million of funds from Dane County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation.

In response to the decision, County Board Supervisor Elizabeth Doyle (District 1) said, "The County’s greatest asset is our employees who care deeply about providing services to the community. This is why the Board needs to review and invest in wages in a thoughtful manner that will have a positive, lasting impact on recruitment and retention through the forthcoming P&F subcommittee."

Also at the committee’s meeting, Supervisor Doyle was elected Chair of the Personnel and Finance Committee.
