An unusual sequence of events resulted in Dane County Sheriff’s deputies arresting Daniel C. Tesnow, age 47 of Madison, for Operating While Intoxicated – 7th offense and Eluding.

Deputies were initially called to the Magnuson Grand Hotel in the town of Blooming Grove for a disconnected 911 call. Tesnow originally called 911 to thank the staff for their service, but then abruptly hung up. When the dispatcher called back to check on him, he became angry. After deputies arrived at the hotel to check on him, they learned Tesnow had left in his silver Hyundai Elantra.

A short time later, a citizen called 911 to report a possible intoxicated driver in a silver Hyundai at a gas station on US Highway 51 in the City of Stoughton. Soon after, a deputy spotted the Hyundai driving erratically on US Highway 51, near CTH AB; at one point almost striking an oncoming vehicle. The deputy ultimately got Tesnow to stop at CTH AB and Stony Crest Road in the town of Dunn. He was taken into custody at approximately 1:30 pm and booked into the Dane County Jail.
