The Dane County Board of Supervisors will once again meet remotely tonight at 7:00pm.  Several items on the agenda directly support the residents of Dane County and the safety of County employees as they continue to provide services to the public.

“As the County moves carefully to open back up, it is important to remember there are still a lot of people, businesses, and non-profits that have been greatly impacted by this pandemic.  We need to continue to support the residents of Dane County in as many ways as possible,” said County Board Chair Analiese Eicher (District 3).

The Board will consider a $3.5 million contract with Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C) to provide one-time grants to approximately 500 childcare providers in Dane County.  Child care centers are struggling to keep their doors open due to lack of child care needed as parents work from home, have been laid-off, or are underemployed.  The funds for this contract will come from the CARES funds the County received from the federal government.

The Board will also vote on a lease between Public Health Madison-Dane County and the Alliant Energy Center for use of the New Holland Pavilion for community COVID-19 testingAs announced earlier this week, Public Health Madison-Dane County has a goal to complete 800 tests a day to continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19.

Additionally, the County Board is scheduled to approve payment of almost $150,000 for personal protective equipment.

Information to connect and register to speak at the meeting is available on the top of the agenda.
