January Full Moon Women's Wellness Evening

Event Dates

  • Thursday, 01/05/2023 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Event Description

The full Moon is a time to be receptive, to take the light and awareness of spirit into your emotional and physical body. It's a great time to support your release of the old and unnecessary through movement and reflection. The January full moon is actually on Jan. 6th, but we'll by honoring it on Jan. 5th. It is also sometimes referred to as the wolf moon, comes in the dead of winter and is a time for transformation and introspection. It's a time of figuring out what you need in order to have a successful life. It's also a time of seeing what's missing and finding truth in what you long for. It's about discovering your purpose, and how it relates to the bigger picture and society as a whole. The evening will include: A candlelit yoga flow (blocks and various options provided) to reap the benefits of movement for our bodies, minds, and souls. A guided meditation (yoga nidra) to nurture ourselves through deep rest and relaxation. Journaling and setting intentions around a bonfire with soothing warm chai latte. You will be lead by Amanda Sherer, a trained yoga teacher with years of experience teaching movement classes throughout the Madison area. The event will take place at beautiful Schumacher Farm Park just north of Madison in Waunakee. The workshop will be in their climate-controlled building, the Center for Rural History, except for the bonfire which will be outdoors. Feel free to come early to wander the prairie trails and connect more with nature and the seasons. Participants should bring their own yoga mat (if you don't have one, reach out as I may have one for you to borrow), water bottle, and any props (like a small pillow and/or blanket) to make yourself comfortable during the guided meditation.
