Event Description

Late summer is a beautiful time of year in Donald Park. Rafts of flowers bloom in the prairies, butterflies flit from blossom to blossom, and temperatures cool down to tolerable levels. What better way to enjoy all of this than by joining one of our August workdays aimed at restoring and preserving the park's native species.

When: Saturday, August 13, and Saturday, August 20, 10 am to noon.

Where: Meet in the parking lot on Sutter Drive.

What we'll be doing: We will return to an area we worked on this winter, cutting and treating sumac and aspen stumps that have resprouted, which is typical. (If you volunteered in that area, be excited to know that numerous native species have also emerged!) Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. We will have tools, but feel free to bring a lopper if you have one. Also bring water. We'll provide the snacks.

Please RSVP directly to the work party leader: Liz McBride, elizabeth-mcbride@sbcglobal.net (608) 698-2753. We hope to see you!
