Waubesa Lakeshore Cleanup Event

Event Description

Help maintain the beauty and health of this undisturbed shoreline by volunteering to remove trash along the Lower Yahara River Trail boardwalk and the Lake Waubesa shoreline at William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park. Collect trash by foot or boat!

Details:

-Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

-Trash collection via canoe/kayak is welcome. Please make leave a comment during signup if you are planning on doing so. Reminder: life vests are required. 

-This is a rain or shine event, but we will cancel via email due to dangerous weather conditions.

-After signing up, details will be emailed to you, including an event map.

Accessibility:

-Volunteers must be comfortable walking on uneven and wet surfaces such as marsh and rocks, and must wear sturdy boots or shoes that may get wet and muddy

-The cleanup area is about a half-mile walk from the parking area at shelter #3.

-Bathrooms available at Shelter 3

This event is sponsored by The Lake Waubesa Conservation Association, in partnership with the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area, Dane County Parks, Dane County Land & Water Resources, and the Village of McFarland.
