FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 8/7/2001
Issued By: County ExecutiveView only releases from County ExecutiveThis is to clarify an item relating to assistance to the elderly and those in danger of heat related illness.
The number that is now designated for people to call for the location of, or transportation services to, an air-conditioned Dane County Community Center is the Senior Hotline: 266-9007, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Do not list the American Red Cross or the United Way First Call for Help. These organizations, which are partnering with Dane County, are now referring callers to the Senior Hotline.)
Also, if media want to pursue a story about the fan distribution program to individuals identified as most in need, please call Kathy Krusiec, Dane County Emergency Management Director, at 267-1591. This agency, not the American Red Cross, is handling distribution of fans that have been donated by our corporate partners.
Thank you.
