Falk Says County Has Received Opinion Letter From Ho Chunk Nation

Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk today said that the Ho Chunk Nation has provided an Opinion Letter to the County verifying the validity of the Agreement between the Nation and the County. Falk said the Opinion Letter, and supporting legal references, affirms that the Ho Chunk legislature followed proper procedures in approving the Agreements between the Ho Chunk Nation and Dane County relating to expanding gaming at DeJope.

“I am satisfied that the agreements are solid and enforceable,” said Falk. Falk said the County’s legal office had reviewed the documents and advised her that the Opinion Letter from the Nation was in good order.
