for the county’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
Hicklin, the county’s chief financial officer, had primary responsibility for preparing the award-winning CAFR.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to the GFOA.
“Chuck does a great job for Dane County. In the short year he has been with us, he’s proven to be a valuable member of our administrative team,” said Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk.
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 14,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
